600 Sheep on Show
Over 600 White Suffolks will compete and 124 will be offered at auction at three major shows in September in a powerful demonstration of the breed’s preeminent position in the prime lamb industry.
It all starts off at ADELAIDE Royal on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 6 when 331 entries (292 sheep) from 32 exhibitors from all states except Queensland will be judged from 9 am by Andrew Frick (rams) and Graham Day (ewes). This is the largest prime lamb breed section at Adelaide.
The Royal Adelaide Show Elite Stud Sheep Sale on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 8 at 2 pm will be dominated by 41 White Suffolk rams in a total catalogue of 55 rams.
Attention then turns to the BENDIGO ELITE WHITE SUFFOLK SHOW & SALE where the 340 entries (318 sheep) even top Adelaide. Judging is on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14 from 8:30 am commencing with the ewes followed by the rams. Judge for the complete section is Andrew Krieg.
On MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16 commencing at 10 am, 60 White Suffolk rams and 23 ewes will be offered far sale at Bendigo.
MELBOURNE ROYAL judging by Ben Prentice follows on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21 in the pm.
