Mandatory EID tags ??

VICTORIA’S State Government has asked other states to join in its latest tender for electronic sheep tags as it continues to promote the wider use of EiD in sheep and goats, and paperless livestock tracking.  Victorian Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford at the recent Livestock Saleyards Association of Victoria annual conference said mandatory electronic tagging of sheep and goats was not “a question of if, but when”.  A competitive tender has been issued to compare the price of tags at 400,000 vs 10 million.
